Keepers of Forest and Flame picks up Wren's story as she settles further into life in Sedgwick Cove and, more importantly, into the realization that she's a witch. With her mom and aunts guiding her, we get to watch Wren actually begin exploring her abilities—and I LOVED seeing the magic become more prevalent as she discovers what she's capable of. This installment has a lighter, almost playful atmosphere at times. There's summer, friendship, found family, a solstice celebration and an elaborate pageant, which gives the characters room to breathe and their relationships room to grow. But there's still that underlying sense of darkness quietly waiting in the background, so you never get too comfortable. � E.E. Holmes And then that final stretch said, “Okay, you've had enough fun.” 😂 The drama ramps up, secrets and motivations start shifting, and there are some twists that you may see coming—and some you probably won't. What I'm enjoying most about this series is that everything feels like it's developing alongside Wren. The friendships are deepening. The family dynamics are evolving. The magical world is opening wider. And Wren herself is becoming more confident in who she is and what she can do. It feels less like we're being handed a fully formed magical world and more like we're discovering it with her. Myranda Rae can apparently cook at every temperature 🌶🔥💚 Give me a paranormal romance with an awkward heroine, an ancient supernatural MMC, monsters lurking in the dark, danger, angst, and a slow burn that actually takes its sweet-ass time burning, and I’m probably going to be happy. Hunger & Hollow delivered. Immy is chaotic, clumsy, awkward, and suddenly finds herself caught up in a world she never knew existed—one inhabited by Umbrals, creatures who feed on the essence of human beings rather than their blood. Then there’s Kas: ancient, hot, guarded, protective, and somehow still in possession of a functioning conscience. He also works in a morgue, which might be the most hilariously appropriate career choice possible for an ancient supernatural being. What really got me, though, was Immy and Kas together. Myranda Rae doesn’t rush their relationship. She lets the attraction, tension, angst, and emotional connection build until you’re completely invested in every little shift between them. I LOVE a slow burn when the waiting actually makes the eventual payoff better, and this one did. I’ve read some of Myranda’s other work, which ventures into much darker and considerably spicier territory, so Hunger & Hollow also showed me another side of her writing. This one is much milder on the spice scale, and it works. She didn’t need extreme spice to create chemistry between Immy and Kas—the tension was already there. Apparently Myranda Rae can cook at every temperature, and I’m happy to eat whatever she’s serving. The paranormal plot kept me just as invested. There are villainous Umbrals, danger, suspense, and plenty of moments that had me thinking, Okay, one more chapter because I NEED to know what happens next. And then there’s Patrick, Immy’s “ferocious” feline, who deserves recognition for being hilarious, supportive in his own uniquely cat-like way, and having absolutely no problem maintaining a grudge. 😂

I should know better by now. I've read enough Ania Ahlborn to KNOW she is going to pull some shit. I know there's going to be a moment where everything I thought I understood gets flipped completely on its ass. And yet... SHE. STILL. FUCKING. GETS. ME. EVERY. TIME. The Unseen is gripping supernatural horror—creepy, unnerving, and disturbing in a way that genuinely made my skin crawl. There's this constant feeling that something is wrong, and the further you get, the worse that feeling becomes. Then the pieces start falling into place. And what those pieces reveal? What. The. Fuck. 😳 I will say NOTHING else because this is absolutely a GO IN BLIND book. Do not ruin this one for yourself. Another Ania Ahlborn ending. Another five stars. Witchy, Mysterious, and Full of Heart I already love E.E. Holmes's Gateway books, so when she sent me a copy of Daughters of Sea and Storm, I was excited to step into another one of her worlds. She sent me book one. I bought the other three. I feel like that probably tells you where this review is going. I absolutely loved this book. Sixteen-year-old Wren returns with her mother, Kerri, to the small coastal town of Sedgwick Cove after the death of her grandmother. It doesn't take long for Wren to realize that everyone in town seems to know more about her family—and about Wren herself—than she does. There are family secrets, witches, different covens, and the unsettling mystery of the Gray Man, whose presence has followed Wren in strange memories she doesn't fully understand. But as much as I enjoyed the supernatural mystery, the characters were what really made this book for me. The complicated relationship between Kerri and her sisters, Persi and Rhi, was one of my favorite parts. There's resentment, hurt, love, and years of history between them. Persi may come across with a hard exterior, but there's so much more underneath it, while Rhi is the kitchen witch who would probably solve every problem by feeding you—and I adored her. The entire book gave me Practical Magic vibes: witches, sisters, family drama, secrets, humor, love, and just enough darkness and suspense running underneath it all. Sedgwick Cove has that wonderful small-town atmosphere where everybody knows everybody—and everybody knows your business. This isn't an intensely magic-system-driven fantasy. The witchcraft is part of the world, but the story focuses much more on its characters, relationships, family history, and the mystery unfolding around Wren. Personally, I loved that balance, and I'm excited to see how the magical side of this world develops throughout the series. This is your typical AND slightly predictable small town ROMCOM. BUT I loved every word on these pages. It was the kind of romantic comedy that is good for your soul. I laughed out loud for the few days I was reading it. I know the MMC is supposed to be Graham, our beefy businessman come to ruin Lyric's life, however, his royal dickness, Sir Ronald Fluffington Perlman the Third TOTES stole the role for me as MMC. HEHE this book has all the things we look for in a book- cute banter, a fun plot, romance, adorable supporting characters and spice oh so nice. it def hits thr ground running in terms of the insta-love. but it is so cute I wasn't bothered with it. 10-10 recommend this read

it's dark.it's gothic. the writing is descriptively poetic. it has all the things: vampires, monsters, magic, love that leaves you yearning and spice oh so nice- did i mention the gargoyle and his cocktails? iykyk 🤪🩸💀🖤 the banter will have you giggling. the sarcasm is sexy and great. the ending will leave you aching for more!!

This book has everything I love about dark romance and the thriller vibez. Ender is such a complex character and I love him. It is perfectly paced and just the right amount of spice. The angst and tension between Ender and Bren was fun to read. And Trent....what a dud. I loved the contrast of characters between Trent ans Ender- polar opposites in most ways. I will recommend this to anyone and everyone!!!

This book will stick with me for the rest of my life. it is a coming of age story, laced with traumatic heartache, and portrays the struggles some face when battling their own darkness. It is a heavy story that deals with mental health issues we dont often talk about. The emotions this story evoked in me were visceral. The way Travis writes is so beautifully descriptive that it easily produced a visual image- like watching a movie-while reading it played in my mind and poured into my heart. I dont think ive ever connected with a character in such a way ever before. thank you travis for creating a thriller that is not just gonna have people asking questions, but it creates a space for introspection while also leaving the reader hopeful.
